Pindeldyboz

Pindeldyboz is an operation run by a small but valiant group of people. We publish creative works here on our website as often as we can, sometimes bi-weekly, sometimes more. We used to publish a print journal, but we stopped. We have been known to publish much fiction, not a lot of nonfiction, and artwork makes an irregular appearance. We finally did release that poetry collection. It was good.

Vacancies by Chris Smith

She told him not to. Her exact words were, "I have no room. Look elsewhere." But the boy did not listen and, with crowbar in hand, broke into her heart. He entered through the left subclavian artery, the back door normally used for exits. The arte...

Hands by Paul Silverman

Irene Lesserman was a nurse, a live-alone widow who ministered to ancient men and women. But she was heavy-hipped, which excited the skinny ten-year-old, Jack Kopinsky, and she wore the white nurse's uniform, anchored in a hem wide and round as a ...

Stub by Molly Tolsky

Traci is the most popular girl in school, with only nine fingers. I've known her since she had all ten--ice skating buddies since the second grade. I never liked her much before, but the accident only made it worse. It gave her the power: all s...

What Disappearing Tastes Like by Andy Bailey

No cars out this late.

Ron crossed Fairview without looking and lengthened his stride for the last mile. His shirt was soaked through and clung to his chest as he ran under the jaundiced glow of the streetlights, the large houses and thei...

Essay by Joshua Feldman

Why do pens, when their clear tubes are still full of ink, suddenly stop working?

It is questions like this that cross my mind these days, when I find myself suddenly rapt by the insignificant things. The white of the paper, the dust float...

How's My Driving? by Michael Landweber

Trip rounds the blind curve on Mulholland and the truck is right there, right in front of him, too close, approaching too fast. Brakes screech. Speeds equalize. And they continue on, the truck in front, the BMW behind.

It is 2:59 p.m. ...
